The focus of our fall staff development is for both students and ourselves as employees: Pathways to Mental Health and Well-Being.
The following information will help you prepare for our two days together.
Wednesday, October 16th, we will be together, in person, in the Rocklin B174 (main campus).
Breakfast will be served at 7:30am, and we begin at 8:30am, with opening remarks from Dr. Terry Murrell, our college president.
Please be sure your browser is up to date, as well as the Zoom app if you will use it to access any sessions on day two. You don’t even need a Zoom account - you can click on the link for the sessions.
If you need accommodations or have dietary requests for breakfast or lunch, please contact Angie and Amy in the ACE, at ACE-A@witcc.edu.
Join us in our first-ever collaborative Hygiene Drive! From October 1-31 support our community by donating personal hygiene items to the Warming Shelter and the Comet Cupboard.
A very cool thing about this is five student clubs on campus have joined to host this event:
Items needed: Toothpaste & Toothbrushes, Deodorant & Toilet Paper, Shampoo & Body Wash, Razors & Feminine Products (Sanitary pads and tampons).
Your contributions make a big difference! Drop off your donations in any of the club’s boxes in the Rocklin during staff development and your name will be added to a drawing. Let's make an impact together!
Thursday, October 17, will be a virtual day of staff development. You will attend virtually, which means you can join us from the comfort of home, through Zoom.
Our day begins at 8:30am, with Department Meetings. Look for the communication from you supervisor or department chair about this, and a Zoom link.
The rest of the day there will be individual sessions offered each hour, with time set aside for you to have lunch on your own. Please note, each session will have its own Zoom link provided in the schedule.
The wonderful offering of sessions would not be possible without many of our colleagues who are presenting and sharing their knowledge, skills, time, and talent; our community members and partners; and the staff development committee who recruited for and planned this event.
ACE-A YouTube: Previous sessions, presentations and trainings are available through the this link – you may choose and watch on your own! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6wY4CEODrkqzc8M3inqe7XVCamQfMA9D
Pack the Gym! If you missed being on campus for Day 2 of staff development, there will be a home volleyball game on the evening of Day 2 (Oct. 17) at 6:00pm vs DMACC.
NISOD: Western Iowa Tech has purchased an institutional registration for NISOD’s Fall Virtual Conference to be held October 16-18, 2024, which allows all employees to register at no cost. This is open to all employees, including adjunct faculty, and is a great opportunity for our adjunct faculty to access professional development.
If you would like to attend, you must register by October 15 using your college email address.
Attending the conference will allow you to engage in three general sessions and 50+ live sessions as well as provide opportunities to connect with colleagues throughout the event. In addition, you will have access for six months to watch the recorded sessions you may have missed during the live event.
